Tyra Banks Reveals How a Song With Kobe Bryant Led Him to His Wife
A Kids' Choice Awards meeting, a studio session and a music video set changed Kobe's life.

Tyra Banks says a song she recorded with Kobe Bryant in her 20s led to something much bigger than music. It's where the Lakers legend met his future wife.
Banks told the story on The Joint Venture Show with Lil Wayne and Craig Carton. It started at the Kids' Choice Awards, where both of them were honored.
"I did a song with Kobe Bryant; I was in my 20s. We were at the Kids' Choice Awards and he won Athlete of the Year and I won Model of the Year."
When Bryant mentioned he was recording an album, Banks told him, "I'm going to be on it." She wasn't kidding.
"A couple of days later, I was in the studio with him on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles."
The two then shot a music video, and that set changed Bryant's life.
"We did a music video, and guess who he met? His wife. She was one of the models on the video."
Banks said Bryant treated her with nothing but respect the whole time. "He never tried to step to me," she said. "It was a respect, like almost an auntie."
She also laughed about one moment she would rather forget. When the two performed the song at All-Star Weekend in 2000, her zipper busted open.
Lil Wayne said the story shows how Bryant approached everything he did, even in a world that wasn't his.
"She was with an artist that day. Plain and simple."
