Lil Wayne Explains Why He Vouched for DeSean Jackson to Become a Head Coach

Wayne says it comes down to where Jackson came from and who he wants to help.

Lil Wayne says he backed DeSean Jackson to become a college head coach because Jackson's main goal is helping young men.

Craig Carton brought it up on The Joint Venture Show, saying many people don't know that Wayne, who is good friends with Skip Bayless, vouched for Jackson to get the job. Carton asked what Wayne saw in him.

"His main thing is to help those young men, you know what I mean? Just helping those young men, period."

Wayne said Jackson's background matters too.

"He's come from the struggle. So he know what a lot of these young men went through or what they going through."

Wayne added that what Jackson gives his players will stay with them either way.

"Whether they become athletes after at the end of this or not, it still affect them and affect their lives and they'll move forward."

Jackson said hearing that from Wayne was a blessing. He called Wayne his GOAT in music and said the two have been close for almost 15 years.

"I promise you this. I never predicted I would have been a head coach in college football."

Jackson said his goal is to push his players and give them hope, so that even the ones who don't make it to the next level become better fathers, sons and nephews.
