Lil Wayne Says He Found Out on TV That the Feds Had Taken His Art and Grammys
He was overseas on tour when the calls started, and the man pointing at his things on the news was someone he knew.

Lil Wayne says he once learned from the TV news that federal agents had gone into his house and taken his art and his Grammys.
Wayne told the story on The Joint Venture Show after Craig Carton asked how he learned who to trust when he started making real money as a kid.
He said he was on tour out of the country when his phone started ringing with calls that sounded like condolences. Then his mom called and told him to turn on the TV.
"That day the feds had went into my house and took all my art. Took all my Grammys. Took everything."
Wayne said he had no idea what was going on.
"So, I'm like, what did I do? Like, and why are they taking my stuff?"
Then he spotted a familiar face in the footage. He said the man standing with the police and pointing at his things was the person who had helped him buy art.
"He put me into the art world."
Wayne said he called the man and was told he owed him money, which surprised him. He said the man could tell from his tone that he didn't know, and helped him realize the person handling his money was not doing right by him.
Carton said stories like that make him angry. Wayne said he was mostly focused on one thing.
"I was fine. I just want to make sure I get my art and stuff back."
He said the lesson stuck with him: if you do business with someone, especially personal business, you want to know a bit of everything.
